Let the Paper Do the Work

Sometimes the best cards come together when you keep things simple and let the Designer Series Paper shine.

This card was created using the beautiful Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper and honestly - it did most of the work for me. The soft blended colours and artistic patterns made it so easy to create something beautiful without needing lots of layers or complicated techniques.

For this design, I started with a gorgeous patterned background, cut in so that it was a little larger than half the card front and mounted to a Basic White card front. This was mounted to a Misty Moonlight colour card base, which coordinated perfectly with the DSP. A simple sentiment embossed in white on a die cut circle completes it perfectly without taking away from the beauty of the paper itself. I then added some coordinating embellishments for the finishing touch.

I loved this layout so much that I went on and created two more with different coordinating colours.

I love cards like this because they’re quick to make, elegant to send, and a great reminder that crafting doesn’t always have to be complicated.

Sometimes the prettiest projects come from trusting your supplies and keeping the design clean and simple.

If you have patterned paper in your stash that you’ve been “saving,” this is your sign to use it! Let it be the star of the card.

Create something you’ll love to send 💛
