Stamping on DSP with Flower Fair
Sometimes patterned paper is already beautiful on its own — but I love finding simple ways to add a little extra detail and make it feel even more custom.
For this birthday card I stamped directly onto the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper using the Flower Fair stamp set, then added soft, partial colouring with Stampin’ Blends. The finished look is layered, coordinated, and still very soft and subtle.
About the Technique
One of my favourite things about this technique is how easy it is to customize patterned paper without covering up the original design.
I stamped floral images right onto the DSP, then used Stampin’ Blends to add just a bit of colour and shading to parts of the flowers and leaves instead of fully colouring every image.
That softer approach lets:
the original paper pattern still show through
the stamped images blend naturally into the background
the card keep a light, elegant feel
You can really see in the close-up how the partial colouring adds depth without overpowering the paper underneath.
Why I Love This Technique
This is such an easy way to:
stretch your Designer Series Paper
add a hand-stamped look quickly
coordinate colours effortlessly
create extra detail without a complicated layout
And because Stampin’ Up! products coordinate so well together, the colours blend beautifully with the paper design.
I made this card for my sister’s birthday today, which made creating it even more special 💜
Thanks for stopping by today! If you’ve never tried stamping directly onto patterned paper before, I hope this inspires you to give it a try.
You might be surprised how much extra depth a simple bit of stamping can add ✨
